Issue 93 of Inspirations magazine has some beautiful projects inside this month and I wondered if anyone would like to stitch along with me?
So the projects which we can choose from are……
A Goldwork Pheasant worked in gilt, silver and copper purl
An orts pot and needlefold on natural linen with birds of all types stitched onto it
Or a beautiful needle painted Nasturtium
Let me know in the comments below which project you would like to see developing on these very pages!!!
This week we had our first delivery from Weeks Dye Works in the States. A whole bunch of divine hand dyed threads and linen. This is the first of many I am quite sure, as you will fall as much in love with these as we have.
The threads are six stranded flosses. Here are many many photos of the threads for you to drool over. All now available at White Peak Embroidery.
The linen is also hand dyed and a dream to stitch on.
Come into the shop and see for yourself just how wonderful these new threads are.
The wonderful Nicola Jarvis came to visit White Peak Embroidery today. She is well known for her crewel work designs of English birds with a William Morris twist. Her designs are so modern and yet have the wonderful texture of traditional stitches. Ann and I met her at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate. Having adored her designs from afar we were rather star struck to meet her in the flesh. Much to our delight Nicola agreed to supply Ann’s shop, the first British shop to stock her kits.
A mere week later Ann had an email from Nicola saying she would like to deliver her kits in person. Of course we were delighted to have another opportunity to chat with Nicola and her lovely husband. They are so friendly and enthusiastic.
So now we have her amazing designs in stock in kit form. There are a number of different bird designs from the humble Robin and the naughty Starling to the proud and rather snooty Green Woodpecker.

The kits include the fabric and printed design, all the gorgeous Appletons wools and any other little extras needed to stitch these fabulous characters.
The hardest decision is which to stitch first! Feel free to call us at White Peak Embroidery for any extra details or come down to the shop and see these amazing kits in person.
We are putting on a special event on Saturday October 5th. It will be at White Peak Embroidery in Darley Dale. There will be a variety of entertainment, plenty of extra parking and fun for all. All the demonstrations that are happening through the day are free to attend and vary from Embroidery skills, Spinning, Felting, Patchwork, Crochet and more. There is also going to be free food tasting sessions in our tea room. Come and try Granny Marys Potted Beef and more. Alongside all this we will be showing an exhibition of peoples work.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the day.
