We are rearranging things a bit in the chapel at Heirs and Graces and so we have decided put some of our yarn on sale.
Not all of the yarn is on sale, but the wool which is on sale has a massive 40% off!!!
Hurry down to the chapel and see what you can get your hands on.
Hello friends. Sorry we have been a bit quiet here at Heirs and Graces. Sometimes things can get a bit hectic.
Anyway, I have been working on a couple of projects to show you over the next few weeks. One project is a Rowandean embroidery of Oriental Poppies. This kit comes with the background fabric already printed with some guidelines. The threads are beautiful quality and the instructions are clear and easily understood with plenty of pictures for extra guidance.
The other project is the repair of an altar cloth from a local church. Here are a few picture of its condition before I have started work.
Next week I will give an update on one of the projects (whichever I have done most work on!!)
We are so lucky here at Heirs and Graces to be just a couple of miles away from the amazing stately home Chatsworth, originally built by the famous Bess of Hardwick and home to the Cavendish family since 1549.
From the 7th to the 11th of June they are holding their first Royal Horticultural Society flower show and to celebrate this we have 50% off of all the fabrics when purchasing more than 2 metres, in the ‘White Peak’ embroidery shop (fabrics in the chapel, felt and organza are not included in the sale).
Keep your eyes peeled for more flower related posts this week!
Isn’t this adorable?
We have received our delivery of the Luna Lapin book. This book gives extensive instructions on how to make Luna the rabbit and a full wardrobe of clothes and accessories. I can’t even begin to tell you how gorgeous this book is. Luna has a little coat with tiny buttons and even patchwork scarf and tiny boots and satchel!
The book is priced £15.99, but it is such good value as it includes 20 garment and accessory patterns. Sarah Peel the designer has such imagination. I just had to include this photo of Luna working at her sewing machine!
Does anyone find they have the same problem with their work? the faster you try and work, the more messy it becomes and then comes the unpicking……..
Well we have some beautiful Alice in Wonderland fabrics for you to try. They really are divine. I’m thinking of making my 7 year old daughter an Alice style dress out of one, what do you think? If anyone has already purchased some fabric and started to sew with it we would love to hear from you an see a picture.
The fabrics start at £15.60 per metre
Since Heirs and Graces opened we have been providing a ‘Patchwork and Quilting Block a Month’ class.
These classes are a great way to learn, have fun and eventually make your own quilt all at your own pace.
Classes run from 10am-4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and cost either £48 for the day or £240 for 6 classes with one class free.
Please feel free to give us a call on 01629 734100 for more details
Always on the look out for different things we have now got in stock these beautiful new yarns from Rowan and some fantastic books to go along.
Rowans Felted Tweed (£8.85) is a blend of merino wool, alpaca and viscose and knits to a DK weight. The yarn has a beautiful tweed effect perfect for fairisles, striping and other colour work and the rustic colour palette is immensely beautiful and works wonderfully with the patterns in Martin Storey’s book which we also have in stock at £9.99.
Rowans Softyak is priced £7.50 and is just divine. It would work wonderfully well with some of the patterns in the new Rowan magazine which is packed full of patterns and very good value at £12.50.
Whilst we are talking about wool………..
Permin have brought out these beautiful farmyard cushions. They are 100% cotton and stitched on Aida. The kit (without cushion inner) is £37.75. This looks like a good project for a Christmas present to me. It will sew up relatively quickly with it being on Aida. I cant wait to get my hands on one. The Friesian is the one for me though!
These kits are fantastic if you just want to give needle felting a try. The kits start at £21 but the chicken is a little more at £25. Aren’t the gorgeous?
Hands up if you love Tilda!
I just love Tilda fabrics!
Tilda is a craft brand founded by Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger in 1999, best known for its whimsical and naive characters in the form of animals and dolls. Tilda books have been translated into 18 languages!
We have a large range of Tilda fabrics and accessories with prices starting at £5 for a fat quarter
Issue 93 of Inspirations magazine has some beautiful projects inside this month and I wondered if anyone would like to stitch along with me?
So the projects which we can choose from are……
A Goldwork Pheasant worked in gilt, silver and copper purl
An orts pot and needlefold on natural linen with birds of all types stitched onto it
Or a beautiful needle painted Nasturtium
Let me know in the comments below which project you would like to see developing on these very pages!!!
