At Heirs & Graces we have our annual open day coming up on Saturday the 11th October. To which of course everyone is welcome. There will as always be plenty of demonstrations and things to have a go at as well as White Peak Embroidery, The Compleat Knit, Heirs & Graces and Graces Tea Room to enjoy. This year however Ann wanted to think of a way of making it even more fun and interactive. We at the shop think she has come up with a wonderful idea.
Whilst in the garden sipping my morning cup of tea I just could not keep it secret any longer and decided that I had to share it with you on the blog.
Those who attend the open day will be given the opportunity to join in our friendship quilt. You will be given a pack with nine ready cut three and a half inch squares in a little packet with some instructions.
Those of you wishing to join in the fun get to take these away with you absolutely free and make them up into a nine patch block. The cream square goes in the middle with your name signed on it, either pen or embroidery will be fine.
You then return your block to the shop where they will all be sewn together into one big Friendship Quilt which will then be hung in Wesleyan House for all to see. A wonderful reminder to us of all our friends and the fun day that was no doubt had by all. The bonus to this little scheme is that everyone returning a completed block will be entered into a draw to win a Rotary Cutting Set including a mat, ruler and cutter worth £45.50. This draw will take place on 11th November 2014.
All the fabrics in the free packs are just wonderful and a dream to work with so not only is there the possibility of winning a great prize but also the simple pleasure of sewing with the gorgeous fabrics enclosed.
We are all really looking forward to seeing everyone there on the day.
